Hey, this is Seth Ben-Ezra, designer of Dirty Secrets. I wanted to thank the two of you for discussing my game.

My wife did the art direction for the book, and we agreed that, since the game was poking at racial issues, it was vitally important that we select the various photographs with care. I’m glad that this came across well.

And, regarding the Latino “gangster” couple, we actually both think that they’re kind of cute. Reminds us a bit of us, actually. (I’m really tall, and my wife is really short.) I doubt that came across quite as well, but even in that picture, we connected with the basic humanity of the people in the picture.

If possible, I’d appreciate it if you could pass this comment on to Chris. I’ve wanted to contact him personally but didn’t have any reliable contact information. Thanks!

    Hey Seth,

Yeah, it’s the fact that they came across as “couple” more than gangster which I thought was great. There’s also this way in which you don’t see images of POC couples in love very often in the media.
